Advanced diabetic retinopathy

Extensive fibrosis in the posterior poles of two eyes with advanced diabetic retinopathy. The fibrosis is typically
seen along the arcades of the blood vessels.

the fibrosis may be devoid of blood (ghost blood vessels). Lood for treactional retinal detachment with or
    without macular involvement.

    Look for:

  • photocoagulation scars
  • pre-retinal or vitreous haemorrhages from traction on the blood vessels.
  • Questions:

    1. What are the indications for vitrectomy in dibaetic eye?

    2. How would you manage tract retinal detachment?
